SleepTech provides overnight testing in a very simple form called overnight oximetry. It is very easy to perform, hence often the first test used. It does have its limitations, in that the results will provide evidence of possible moderate to severe sleep apnea. In other words it is not a diagnostic test. We send you home with several questionnaires. If the test turns out to be negative and your answers to the questionnaire are very positive, we may proceed to a more definitive test known as a Level 3 overnight test. This test measures more parameters, hence more information and the results are diagnostic to a large degree. There is no charge for these tests.
Once it’s determined you may suffer from sleep apnea you may trial CPAP therapy for 4-6 weeks, again at no charge to you. The improvement in your lifestyle can be astounding! Certainly worth trying.
